The 1500m world champion, Genzebe Dibaba, has added to her list of achievements, the world record of 2000m, in the Míting International de Catalunya, celebrated in the city of Sabadell, on Tuesday 7 February.

The three-time world champion surpassed the record just before the midway mark, which reached 2: 42.65, and continued to extend her lead over her younger sister Anna Genzebe.

Genzebe Dibaba reached the goal with a time of 5: 23.75, taking almost seven seconds of the best mark, achieved by Gabriela Szabo in 1998. Although the 2000m indoor is not an official world record, Dibaba’s performance can be classified as Absolute world record, as it is faster than the outdoor mark of Sonia O’Sullivan, with a time of 5: 25.36.

Genzebe Dibaba was treated by INDIBAactiv the day before her career, so she could be well prepared to face her, and get her best results.

In addition to the 1500m outdoor world record, Dibaba now also has the fastest times ever recorded in the interior for the 1500m, mile, 2000m, 3000m, two miles and 5000m.
